Marilyn was also known by Mar, Matsy, and Merlin (because she was magical to many of us). In addition to her kids calling her mom (mommy), most people thought of her as their own mother. Friends would tell us “She is so cool, I wish she was my mom”. When someone was in pain she was greatly caring, kind, and an amazing listener who offered tremendous support.
In addition to the full-time 24/7/365 day work of being an amazing mother, she was also an extraordinarily talented artist (watercolors, charcoal, polymer clay…), a beautiful singer, and she even taught herself to play guitar. She adored having her children (and later her grandchildren and great-grandkids) gathered around her singing and/or painting with her.
When she wasn’t creating, she was working. Marilyn had a tremendous work ethic, some of her work included being the Executive Secretary to the Branch Manager of Sherson Lehman American Express and running the prestigious art studio of Carol Hall.
We will miss her laughter, her sense of humor, and her hugs. To us, she is unforgettable.
